Wildfire Breaks Out Near Darlene Way in La Pine Oregon | Emergency evacuation

Initial Breakout and Rapid Spread

A wildfire broke out near Darlene Way in La Pine, Oregon, and grew to 250 acres in less than three hours. Initially estimated at 3-5 acres, the fire was under investigation. By 2:15 p.m., the fire had grown to 15 acres and was spreading to the northeast.

Escalation and Response Efforts

The newly named Darlene 3 Fire had grown to about 50 acres as the air and ground battle was fully underway. Three task forces of firefighters from various agencies rushed to help tackle the blaze as new spot fires were reported.

Evacuation Notices

Deschutes Alert sent out a wildfire evacuation notice stating ‘Level 3 – GO NOW! The evacuation alert covers the region east of the railway tracks, near Darlene Way and Ice Cave Road. The Forest Service announced that McKay Crossing Campground, Prairie Campground, and the Rosland OHV play area and associated trails on the Deschutes National Forest were being evacuated and closed.

A temporary evacuation point has been established at La Pine High School for evacuees needing support.

Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Actions

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has issued Level 3 ‘go now’ evacuations in La Pine due to the Darlene Fire in Central Oregon, which has reached 250 acres. The fire has affected Darlene Way and Finley Butte Road in La Pine. Level 2 and Level 1 evacuations have been issued for areas east of Highway 97 and Rosland Pit.

Oregon Department of Forestry Central Oregon District (ODFCO) Measurements

A wildfire, known as the Darlene Fire, has prompted urgent evacuations in La Pine, Oregon. The Oregon Department of Forestry Central Oregon District (ODFCO) has issued Level 3 evacuation notices, directing people to go now east of the railroad tracks near Darlene Way and Ice Cave Rd. Level 2 evacuation areas are set to evacuate east of Hwy 97 and south of Rosland Pit.

Resources Deployed and Evacuation Alerts

A massive wildfire near La Pine, Oregon, has caused significant damage, affecting around 5 acres. The fire, initially estimated to be between 3 and 5 acres, has prompted the deployment of four engines, one dozer, one crew, and several air resources.

A Level 3 GO NOW Evacuation Alert has been issued for southeast La Pine and nearby areas. The fire has reportedly jumped Finley Butte Road and new spot fires have been reported.
